New Ladyboy Cabaret show in Siem Reap

I just noticed this story in the PP Post http://www.phnompenh...cale-venue.html

An interesting venture and good luck to them. I may have to spend more time in Siem Reap than Phnom Penh in future visits to Cambodia. They claim to have a troupe of 70 ladyboys which has probably thinned out the ladyboy population of Phnom Penh quite substantially!

Dixon Cox, you are our man on the ground over there at the moment, have you heard much about this new cabaret?

Great information there Premier. PP as you know does not have a huge population of LBs to start with. So any exodus to Siem Reap would be noticed for sure.

Just as a bit of trivia, I believe Siem Reap means Siam defeated as the Khmers won some battle over them back in the mists of time.

I'm currently in Pattaya and will be here for another month or so, but I'll be back in Cambodia after that.

Thanks for the above info Premier, it really does make me tempted to head back upto Siem Reap again, perhaps even fly directly there on my return.

There is probably some truth in your theory about depleating the ladyboy stock in PP, especially with all the Korean and Japanese tourists who flock directly to that City by air en-route to Angkor, many have a penchant for cocks in frocks.

Interesting developement, I went to a labyboy bar there a few years ago (Mambor?). It didn't last very long.

Sadly BKK Air has a monolopy on the route from BKK. You will pay dearly.

Yea it was open when I was there in Dec. '07. Think it closed soon after that The owner, Sasar or something like that later worked in La Bamba, but would never let anyone take her photos. Looked a bit like Halle Berry.

Oh dear.

Perhaps an overland via Battambang might be worth thinking about, as Cambodia's second biggest City there are a few venues worth another look and a scene to be fully discovered.

I believe some of the girls from Classic have/are headed there in search of greener pastures.

I wouldn't be surprised at all as there have been several exodus from the Classic Night to my knowledge. They have a bad habit of restricting the girls from working part-time elsewhere even after the shows have finished, so they end up leaving for flexibility.

I was there in March of 08. I went in a couple of times. Once I was the only customer. The next time I was the only customer and bought all 8-10 LBs a drink at the same time at something like US$1 each. Another guy came in later but all the girls were sitting with me so he turned around and left. I also bar fined there once but it wasn't a great experience.

70 LBs unleashed around Pub Street would make quite a scene. The whole main tourist area isn't real big.10 LBs would be quite a scene. But I haven't been back to SR since that first trip so maybe it's changed a bit.

I saw this article, and should have posted it here. Actually, the management of the show is/was looking for a marketing specialist (with a B.A. degree), to assist with sales. I gave the listing to some of my ladyboy contacts in the Philippines with BA degrees working in the hospitality industry. The job posting might still be up.

I can't imagine 70 ladyboys all getting out of the show at the same time near Pub Street...The area is so small, it would be pandemonium. Interestingly, my experience of Siem Reap, was that ladyboys really were not welcome at the Pub Street restaurants and bars. Although my LB traveling companion and I had a nice dinner at the Red Piano restaurant, it was clear to me, that without my presence she would have been shooed away unceremoniously.

Anyway, this show should add a lot to Siem Reap, and I know that they intend to directly compete with the Tiffany's Show in Pattaya for ladyboy glamour tourists.

Cheers,

Randi

I was there around April this year and went to the show. It was really good and the LBs went down stairs and took pictures with the guests. The place was huge and it was less than half full but a fairly decent crowd based on the numbers for such a show.

I think the place itself was too big for such a big show. I may have some pics and would try and post here.

Some of the dancing was very good and could not believe how feminine some them danced. I think a lot of them was either pre hormone or could be even drag queens that they dressed as boys during normal times. This is according to the guide who was with me.
