In 30 years of going to the PH I ALWAYS stay in the Ermita-Malate area when I pay out of my pocket. (I stayed at the Makati Shangri La 3 or 4 times back when a former employer paid). Ermita used to be the mongering epicenter of Asia (with more pussy bars than Pat Pong I hear) until a sweeping crackdown in the 1980s (before my prosti-chasing time) only after which did Makati (and the now defunct EDSA complex in Pasay) emerged as new mongering hot spots with go-go bars.
