Every kind of eating, drinking, shopping and entertainment can be found. The fish market is close to Nevizade sokak (street) and Çiçek Pasajı ("Flower Passage", nothing to do with flowers now), the most classical type Turkish drinking spots, the first more budget, the latter is more up-market, but I doubt there's any TS street work happening. There used to be one Gay/TS bar named Hengame, just near the fish market entrance, but it's closed for a long time. However side streets are a different situation. The side streets of Istiklal Avenue hide the seediest and the cleanest in them. On the other side, from Tarlabaşı side, I saw some SW type girls waiting in an alley I assume being close to the fish market. Not sure if they are GG or TG, but thinking about the TG dominance on the street biz, there's pretty much chance. But I would think thrice before picking up any of them. Sahra is more targetting the TS crowd, but said to be very seedy and full with annoying Turkish "tops" (guys with "a hole is a hole" mentality) and scamming "rent-boys". That's all I have heard, but not experienced first hand. Things may have changed. Falling off my bicycle I broke my pubic bone ! That´s a rather painful matter and after 9 days in hospital I have to use clutches for another 6 weeks ! So no travelling, even fucking is rather cumbersome. With a heavy heart I had to cancel my trip having still some hope I can do it in autumn ( summer with the heat and tons of touries is not the ideal time) but maybe these days walking on Taksim Square is not the best idea either.
