Avoiding Certain Bars

The prices may seem expensive but they're commensurate with Walking St rates and maybe a plus is it will keep the PY riff raff away.

Of course westerners are welcomed and it's normally busy too

Regarding Petesie saying quite a few BMs at PY hang out with me that's correct.   It was the banning-oriented PY propaganda that spread I shunned other farang mongers.  I did not and a bunch got to know me in person.  Just that I did not introduce myself as Daddy Rom, which was not even my PY board name until my last 2 years there.  For ex. I never figured if Jimbo recognized me as Rom even though he saw me every night when I was in Phuket.  Same same with Scott who was nice to me at the bar and then hit me with an online 2 by 4.  Honestly, sometimes I think I have very non-descript middle age whitey forgettable features.  Mongers who used to know me apparently stopped recognizing.   But I have done joint trips with 2 of PY's more popular BMs, who are not the petty jealous kind as in fact most aren't and they sure showered me with likes and accolades for the most part.   I know what all their mods look like and if I havent introduced myself to the 2 thicko ones it's because I am afraid it would quickly escalate into blows and sending them to the hospital (I am younger and bigger) is not worth me going to the precinct and having to bribe my way out.

I agree 100% with all of the above. I thought I was the only guy to use Lengkee or Xcyte to avoid the gauntlet.  

A great bar with the accent on meeting ladyboys.  It's not the type of bar you go to if you want to meet up with your mates.  That makes it more private and discreet than the more high profile bars. Might not matter to many guys but appreciated by others.

Not sure if there is a ladyboy bar with cheaper ladydrink prices.  A friend tells me that the combined short time barfine/room is 300 baht which is nice.

The ladyboy who used to work at Bon Bar is Fang but now works at Delirious.  Extremely beautiful in my opinion.  YMMV.

She is not the one I described in my original post as a sweetheart.   In that case by sweetheart I meant a very likeable no-drama ladyboy.  The whole point of my original post is that a bar can do everything right but despite that there could be reasons whu individual mongers might stay away.

I think guys like or dislike bars for a variety of reasons.

But there are reasosn why a guy might avoid a bar that he otherwise likes.  Generally it is because a guy may feel uncomfortable because of a staff member.  Perhaps a ladyboy who he guy has been with before is cockblocking him from other ladyboys. That's just one example.

If staff members send out a chilly vibe when previously they were warm, that is another reason to avoid a bar.  Guys want to spend their time and money in a no-drama atmosphere.

Of course a guy also avoids a bar which he doesn't like in the first place.

Short & selective memory going back to as you mentioned, 2015? Get a grip ye eedgit. Messaging through any forum is the only contact we have to contact BM's, it's as private as you make it.

Just to confirm my selections we went on a crawl last night.

First to Peachies for one where we were having such a great time we had 3. Free shots from the owners. Brilliant show, at one point 15 ladies were doing a line up routine in front of us, music was excellent & distractions were had. Mamasan Kya entertained us.

Next to Cindy's where we only had one before moving to Duangjai. Again excellent service, music & ambiance & our tattooed handsome mate got well & truly pounced upon.

On the way back we were dragged into Old No7 by old chums Pat including well breasted Bua, a couple of drinks were had served by the owner Joy herself, we had a good old laugh.

So my fave bars of choice remain in that order, bars to be avoided? Any bar you don't wish to go in, end of.

This may seem as personal but I'll share it. Pattaya Ladyboys/barowners can be jealous of their perceived customer base; we've had a few drive by's where girls from other bars know the guys in town & come looking for them, calling them out so we're viewed as stealing their customer...really? The fella is on holiday & goes where he sees fit, took me a while to figure this peculiar perception out. 

I used to get on with Herb, started up his thread for him & gave him a few tips & advice. After a while I got the impression from his other half the 'stealing customer' effect was in action, really? I actually brought fellas in to show them where the place was...

Anyhoo; around 6 months back I made a few comments about the LB bars & said Delirious was not for me...as I drink large whiskies & Doris goes nuts when I wobble back. After taking a fella there I was accused of saying bad things about his bar. As I know he doesn't read the forum other than his bar thread a snitch was in play, fine, drank up & left & haven't been back.

Like with any of the bars around town, ye vote with yer feet, doncha.

Even within our 'serving hours' we treat it as an 'internet customer' for them, none of our beeswax & they'll soon be back. The hive of activity was all around last night, a joy to behold seeing fellas enjoying themselves. LK Metro was packed as was most of Treetown & Buakhao & Made in Thailand.

Sounds good for both the girls and mongers.

If I am reading this and another comment correctly,  girls can show up whenever they want or even not show up at all.   If a girl wants to go to Koh Samet for a week with a customer management doesn't frown upon either the customer or the bar.

In days before smartphones bars were more authoritarian.  The times now are achanging.  Seems like a smart move to welcome friendly girls who fit with the vibe of the bar and give them a place to hangout, feel at home and grab some grub.

I'll give another example of a bar that I somewhat avoid.  It's not a ladyboy bar or evn a hostess bar but rather a sports bar/restaurant with about 5 TVs that can be programed separately.   Twice the same waitresses  showed her displeasure when I asked her to change the channel on one of the TVs.  She changed it but with an attitude.  Perhaps I could have more polite; I dunno.

But the bottom line is I don't particularly want to be around that waitress and I have other good breakfast options and can watch NFL replays on my laptop.  If friends want to go to that joint I'll join them but I no longer go alone to watch football.

I think often bar avoidance is not "I'll show them and take away my business"  but rater I don't feel as comfortable as I'd like in a particular venue.

One bar I definitely won’t be returning to is 'The Draft' in Siem Reap. It was recommended on the 'Cambodiaredcat' site as the bar with the most ladyboys (‘The Draft is the bar where I saw the most Khmer ladyboys on any given day.’). Unfortunately, that wasn’t my experience. Every time I visited, the bar was nearly empty, and once, I only saw two crossdresser with wigs on a stage at the back. This was also where Snoop Dawg once encountered a gay in a wig and dress—his sole ‘ladyboy’ find there.

Need I add that just a hundred meters away, at most, he walked right past massage salon where three ladyboys with a distinctly Khmer look were working. He probably passed within ten feet of these gems without knowing they were what he was after. A shame, really; I hadn’t known he was in Siem Reap, or I could have guided him. I won’t revisit the details, but I had been banned from PY by Kim Piggly Wiggly. The most punished guy in this story was SD.
