I am old enough - and have been in 'the scene' long enough - to remember when people said "what is your name on The Forum" they weren't even talking about the newer one from Pattaya. They were talking about the original Ladyboy Forum.
And honestly, even that was kind of clubby. Stogie made a foolish 'staff room' which was somehow expanded to about 50 people, only 2 or 3 of which were on the actual staff of that website. So if someone was introduced to someone else and they were not a part of this exclusive club, which was really just stogie's drinking buddies he had met over the years, they were sometimes given the cold shoulder as well. Not on purpose mind you, I think most of the people in there were decent guys, but the ones who were excluded may have felt like they were on the outside looking in,
So it's seemingly generational. And extremely lame. In fact, when in Thailand these days I gravitate towards people who aren't on any forum, or stay very low-key about it if they are. Forum heroes are a bore.
