Hi All, I've not posted for a while but recently spent a week in PP so I thought I'd provide a bit of an update on the current lb scene. As I had two mates in town most of my nights prior to midnight were spent with gg company, not that they mind my lbs, it's just that the hostess bars with lbs on staff are generally low rent places of a lesser standard and don't typically have the best ggs on staff. The best quality gg hostess bars very rarely have a ladyboy on staff, unfortunately, After my mates called it a night each evening I did a bit of exploring around the bars and hit all the usual places being streets 136, 5, 130, 118, 110 and 104. Basically, in respect to hostess bars, almost all the ladyboy action is on 136 at the moment. I had initially been quite saddened to learn my favourite bbq pork shop on the corner of 136 and 5 had been converted into another hostess bar until I poked my head in the door and was greeted by several lbs, some quite stunning too. The new bar is named Madame Butterfly and is directly opposite the bar Mr Butterfly, both these bars are owned by a Khmer lady who also owns Candy Bar which is just over the road on 136. All these 3 bars employ lbs and they all seem to just float around from bar to bar. A great spot to sit is out the front of Madame Butterfly on the outside tables on the 136 side. Once the lbs know you are interested they will come from everywhere, word seems to spread right along the street. There are also a few lbs at other bars along 136, and a lot of fresh new ones I met for the first time. As for lbs on streets 130, 110 and 118, which are in relatively close proximity to 136, they were few and far between, Island bar still has a couple. Street 104 is barely a shadow of its former self and I only popped over there a couple of times, seems to be completely dead these days. I made a couple of runs over to street 51 and had a look in both the Heart and Pontoon, the Heart is still largely a gay club these days, as for Pontoon I was too drunk to make any honest assessment, however both nights I went there I ended up back at 136 which suggests lbs are still likely banned, other than a couple of old stagers who aren't worth bothering with. I stayed in a river view suite at the River108 hotel which is just next to the night market, I've generally stayed at this hotel for about the past 4 years as its always been good value, although the rooms are now starting to become a little dated and they no longer are partnered with the Fish restaurant for breakfasts or room service, which was a little disappointing. However I'll continue to return for the simple reason that they don't give a fuck how many girls you bring back. On my first night I was like a kid in a candy store on 136 and I ended up having 4 lbs stay over in my room and they didn't object. I'd be tempted to return to the Golden House hotel on 136, given its proximity to the best lb bars now, however I find these days I need some distance between myself and the madness, or I end up losing the plot and going on endless benders. At least on st 108 I'm a 5 minute walk away which is far enough away to avoid temptation and maintain your sanity. The rest of my trip, 10 days in Thailand, was a train wreck due to various health issues, had to cancel a trip to Chiang Mai and spent most of my time holed up at the Dynasty Grande in Bangkok. Had to visit Bumrungrad twice and they tore me a new one with their bills. The PP updates have been few and far between lately so I hope any other guys who visit add their 2 cents worth to the thread. cheers Premier

I had exactly the same experience when I visited the new Sensations last year, I went in with high expectations but had a rather instant dislike of the place, a lot of cliquey bunches of guys in there, when I popped outside for a smoke and could overhear conversations there only seemed to be one topic, the (LBP) forum. I'm pretty sure I'll grow to like the place though, as I loved the former location.Back home I read the forums most days as you can sort of live vicariously through everyone's tales, but when I'm in LOS I rarely read the forums and they are the last thing on my mind as you are in the ladyboy reality zone. Most of the guys I know off this forum I met from the LB69 forum and are all good guys. Globetrotter, what dates are you in Patts? On my upcoming trip I'll be in town from 20 March to 25 March, in BKK and Phnom Penh either side of those dates. It's my 40th bday on 21 March so I'll probably have a party, I hope a few guys are around that night for a catch up.

The Page 10 used to be my favorite hotel in Patts but after my last stay a couple of months back I think I'm done with it. The rooms haven't been particularly well maintained and are becoming aged. Their wifi has always been a bit patchy and I also don't think the room cleaning is good enough. There would be better options in that price range than the Page 10.

Oscar 51 has been closed for a while now xyzzy which is a shame as there were always 3 or 4 lbs hanging about. Not sure if the 51 bar relocated but there is still an Oscar bar open on 104, last bar on your right heading away from the river. Much more confined space but they always have a live act and always seems to be one or two lbs there.Slur bar has been many different things since it opened and continues to battle on, I've never personally set foot in there as I've never spotted a single patron in there!

The forum has been very quiet on the Cambodia front of recent times. Well I'm due back in PP in about 3 weeks and I've just phoned a couple of old flames to sound out where all the ladyboys are working around town. I am reliably informed that Island Bar on 118 currently has 6 ladyboys on staff, which by PP standards is a shitload, and not necessarily a good thing in my book. From my experience this bar is one of the raunchier bars in PP where girls dance on the bar and I've seen guys just about fucking girls on the sofas. I've been with at least 3 of the 6 ladyboys at this bar so in actual fact I'll probably give it a wide berth, owing to the general clinginess/jealousy/immaturity of the PP ladyboy population. I actually far prefer the bars with a single resident ladyboy as you avoid a lot of bullshit! Anyway I am in town for a week and will probably hit at least 30 bars and all the clubs and will post an update at the conclusion. Cheers premier

Fox, the bar strip on 136 is at the Riverside end on the street, which is a great area to stay. You seem like a Phnom Penh kind of guy to me as if you enjoy the ladyboy hunt you will enjoy Phnom Penh.

I used to catch up with an ex Linda bar lb called Am who was working in a bar called Dana Bar in the Arab quarter, there were always 3 or 4 lbs on staff. As described above the music is played at an absolutely ridiculous volume and I never hung around for more than one drink. Much less interaction between the lbs and customers in these bars, which is unsurprising given the clientele, I get the impression the lbs probably get picked up by way of a wink and a nod when the punters are settling their tab, followed by a discreet exit.

I picked her up at Pontoon a few years ago when she was more of a crossdresser than a ladyboy......boy does she look great these days. Have seen her around PP my last couple of visits, she seems to freelance without being attached to any particular bar, have also seen her in the cabaret show at Rainbow. I think I may have to give her a call next time I am in town.

And I agree with Xyzzy that Loco is one the better (gg) hostess bars in PP, in fact it's probably the best one. Only the one ladyboy though, as it typical in PP bars. Coco has a hot lb mate called Pisai who works a block away at Pretty Woman.

The ladyboy on the right is named Ano, nice girl. If you are still in PP Eroticadventurer I strongly recommend A Mey, formerly of Big Mama, but now working at GPub in the Golden Soriya Mall. I have been told that her and Lyly no longer work together at Big Mama as my jointbarfining of them ended up creating a bit of a feud between them.

I agree, best suited to the solo traveller or a pair. I have expat mates in PP who are all big mongers, but they never dabble in the ladyboys. PP is the perfect place to party with straight mates as the bars are mixed, I'd say on average perhaps every third bar would have ladyboy on staff. PP is an acquired taste, I'd estimate that 9 out of 10 guys who visit PP to monger would probably never return, as the availability of GGs and LBs is so much better in Thailand. Yet it remains my favorite place to party in Asia.

Yes, Singer Bar is across the intersection on the same side, I'm not suprised that they tried to pad your bill either, the place is literally a shit hole. And yes Ano is the larger bodied LB at Domino, and has my recommendation.

I have just returned home from my latest trip to Thailand and Cambodia and I thought I'd add a few notes to xyzzy's excellent PP report. Xyzzy, it was nice to catch up again in Pats. My original plan was for 6 nights in PP but I had such a pleasant time I ended up changing my flight and staying for 9 nights. I stayed at the Golden House in Street 136 for my first 6 nights before moving over to River 108 Hotel which is in on St 108 across from the night market and just a few doors from the riverfront. I was very impressed with River 108 and this will be my first choice when I return to PP again. A lot of my report will only confirm xyzzy's notes however I'll try and add some new information, I am hopeless remembering names so won't be able to add much there. I also won't be adding any photos as every time I've done this in the past heroes have fucked it up for me. Anyway I'll start with St 136, and I can confirm there are 2 ladyboys in Candy Bar, one being Sophie (AKA Thearry) who has been on the PP scene for a while. There are also 2 ladyboys across the road at Singer Bar, with Candy and Singer having the same Khmer owner. Both these bars are open 24 hours however unsurprisingly you seldom spot the ladyboys in the daylight hours. I just happenned to be upstairs at Candy one afternoon which was pay day for the staff, must have been 40 or 50 girls there and all the ladyboys. Being the sole customer up there I attracted a lot of attention! The owner and manager gave all the girls what sounded like a bit of a pep talk, I later asked one of the girls what was discussed and was told "she want us get more barfine and ladydrink"....no suprises there. Candy and Singer are basically shithole bars, the upstairs toilets at Candy have been broken for years, the clientele is seedy (even by PP standards) and most of the GGs are skanks. The balcony at Candy is however in my opinion the best bar in PP to kill a few hours of an afternoon, as there really are no other options if you want to have a few beers with a girl at your side. I ended up having a problem with one of the LBs so didn't venture into these bars the last few days of my trip. Also on 136 is G's Bar which has 2 young and very raw ladyboys, one of them sporting a rather bad wig and who you could barely classify as a femboy, let alone a ladyboy. Yet they are very friendly and good fun to hang out with. The taller and darker one has big potential, and I reckon in one or two years, with some hormone treatment which would smooth out her skin a bit, she will be an absolute stunner. Another ladyboy, Eva, hangs out at this bar intermittently. I picked her up at Pontoon a couple of years ago, at that stage she was sporting a wig, but boy have her looks improved since. I think she may just work around a few bars/clubs as she pleases, I also saw her in the Rainbow cabaret. She can be found on Thaifriendly if you search for Cambodian ladyboys. From memory there was another LB in a St 136 bar opposite G's Bar but the bar's name and the LB's name escapes me, but may have been Lemon bar. As xyxxy reported there are two LBs in Domino bar just a couple of blocks from 136 on Street 5. They have a discreet mezzanine level with couches where you can go for a good grope or fondle etc. I barfined Ano from here who was enthusiastic and good fun. The other LB in there has great English, is a bit more developed, and has a hot body. Just around the corner on St 130 is Loco Bar which has a very, very pretty LB by the name of Coco. This is a great bar run by a friendly Frenchman. As is the case in Thailand, the bars run by Westerners generally have it all over to bars run by locals. I took Coco on my first night, and after showing her a photo of another LB I was keen on from my last trip, she exclaimed "she my best friend". So naturally the friend, Pisai, was called, and I awoke the next morning with a LB on either side of me. Pisai works at Pretty Woman bar on Street 110, which is only a block or so from Domino. This bar is a bit different from most PP hostess bars being painted all white inside and having booths rather than tables. Judging by my visits, the customer base is largely Japanese and Korean. Pisai, like Coco, is very attractive, however both these two may end up as posties, it would suit them....as there is not much happening downstairs. Also on 110 is Keo at Ben's Bar, I always drop in for a drink but I've not taken her before, I just never have enough time to try them all. One day I will rectify this as she is very sexy and I've only seen good reports of her on this forum. Over on 104 I entertained the double act at Big Mama bar, which is Lyly and A Mey. xyzzy seemed to think these two were not friends however they assured my they were friends, and just to test this I barfined them both together. I've been with Lyly several times previously on other trips and she remains a favorite but you need to watch how much she drinks, as she has a bad habit of getting blind drunk and being a bit of a nuisance. A Mey is a real little firecracker in the room, she has a very small stature but a big cock and is very enthusiastic. She would be my LB recommendation in PP by a big margin, I ended up barfining her 4 times this trip. Also on 104 is Tiara at Top Ten bar, and she is still as sexy as ever, I really enjoy catching up for a chat with her. The only other LB I spotted on 104 was a bit of an old stager at Air Force bar. Not much to look at but definitely worth buying her a drink or flipping her a few bucks for a back and neck massage, she is very good at this. Aka, a postie and old favorite of mine, I believe may still work at 104 bar, but she is very popular and often on long term barfines. Over on Street 51 I checked out the LBs at Oscar bar mentioned by xyxxy. 2 of them knew me from Candy Bar, I only saw one other one in there and she was very pretty, but always busy with other punters. This is a good bar, they had Western rock bands playing both nights i was there and the volume is at a reasonable level. There are a few LB's dotted around the beer bars in the Golden Sorya Mall however I have never been a big fan of this place. Apparently (I was later informed) I pulled a femboy out of one of these bars one night. I just woke up with her, no idea where she had come from as I couldn't remember coming home. I never even got her name as she barely spoke any English, ah the joys of Phnom Penh. I took Lyly and A Mey to the Heart of Darkness one night but this club is now largely gay, and i didn't see any ladyboys, although on my last visit 12 months ago there were plenty. I also went to Pontoon a couple of times but I am unable to offer a coherent report as I was pretty wasted. I did see some familiar LB faces in there however i believe they only let in LB's that are accompanied by a punter, so you probably won't find any in there that are available. I did bump into a few LB's around the St 51 food vans at very late hours, one group of 3 were stunning and not ones I had seen in PP before. One was back home from Thailand on a visa run, works at Cascade apparently. The other 2 claim to work in a bar that caters only to Japanese. I have heard of this bar from other PP ladyboys over the years and it has a somewhat mythical status for me, as I've never been able to get it's name or location, but I suspect it may be a bar in the Naga Casino. Judging by the talent of the LB's purporting to work there, it would definitely be worth a look (if you are willing to pay Japanese ST/LT rates). I also visited the Rainbow and Classic cabaret shows. The Rainbow show had a nice lineup of 12 ladyboys and they had a special show that night, but the bar was packed, largely by gay Western men which is not my scene, and i only lasted one drink and took my LB companion over to Classic. Classic was packed, however the crowd here is all young Khmer gays and ladyboys, me being the only Barang in the club, which is much more my style. I've been here on several occasions and the cabaret show improves every year. There were a lot of nice ladyboys both in the cabaret show and the crowd. I spotted a ladyboy known as Sasa in the crowd, other PP guys on this forum with know her, she looks absolutely stunning these days. As I had company with me i didn't get to interact with any of the LBs in this place. As has been mentioned previously by others, PP is vastly different to Thailand in respect to the availability of LBs, and you need to do a fair bit of legwork to find them. I personally love Cambodian ladyboys, even more than their famous colleagues over the border in LOS. Most Australians have a fair idea what single blokes indulge in whilst in Thailand. I am often asked what parts of Thailand I visit and I never mention Pattaya, unless the person asking is a fellow monger who knows the score. As mentioned above most people have never heard of the place anyway, even those who have visited Thailand. I actually only spend about a third of each holiday in Pattaya anyway, my tolerance limit is about 6 days, I don't think I could ever stay there for weeks or months on end like some of you guys!

Hey Xyzzy, your report from the front line has enabled me to add some pins to my campaign map of PP ahead of my arrival at the end of January, thanks mate will save me some legwork, but that's half the fun isn't it. How much longer you in PP for? I arrive 31 Jan for a week, then back to Thailand for a week, most likely in Pattaya.

So the Thai elections are scheduled for Sunday 2 February. I believe it will be a farcial event with the Democrats likely to boycott it, nevertheless it looks set to go ahead. I was wondering if anyone has some thoughts on what the situation will be regarding bar closures. Will all bars be closed? Will some be open and serving grog on the sly? If bars are closed will it be all weekend, or just the Sunday, will they open at midnight on Sunday? Interested what other BMs' opinions are here, the reason I ask is that I arrive in BKK on 30 January, and I'm thinking of heading to Phnom Penh over the election weekend if it's going to be shitfight just trying to get a beer.

And another thing, you would have noticed that all foreign patrons get the pat down from security at the club door. Any well connected locals walk straight though.

My take on this is that the armed guys were likely her bodyguards, and their loyalties would undoubtedly lie with her husband, hence them warning you off. You were probably just a pawn in some bullshit drunken stunt she was pulling to make her husband jealous or something. The Heart of Darkness had a bad rap several years ago after a few incidences of bodyguards of well connected revellers shooting other patrons.

Have to agree with you here DC, I went to a Morlam with a ladyboy in Bangkok on my first ever visit to Bangkok. I was feeling rather adventurous at the time and just going with the flow, ended up in a dirt field way out in the suburbs and the place was going nuts. Hung out with a bunch of boozed up ice smoking ladyboys for a couple of hours. Found the atmosphere very, very edgy, and I was the sole falang there in a crowd of a couple of thousand. Several cans of Leo must have calmed my nerves. The whole thing ended in a mass brawl and at that moment I swore I'd never attend one of these things again.
