I have never seen Pattaya so over crowded in my life in 11 years for travelling there . It may well be low season and most bars are empty but the streets and roads or over crowded and it seems everyone needs a motorbike or scooter for some reason , it really is becoming dangerous and uncomfortable just walking and crossing the road . Unfortunately when someone is on a motorbike it seems there are no rules its common for someone to drive the wrong way up a road or on a pavement or any which way they fancy to get past . I had so many near misses last trip I could never relax and switch off . I got off a baht bus one night on Second Road and when I went to pay the driver some idiot on a bike came flying up the gap between the bus and the pavement which was no more than a couple of metres causing me to pin myself against the bus . Crossing the main Duel Carriageway at Jontiem I looked twice both ways before crossing only to have a Thai woman appear from nowhere driving the wrong way on the wrong side of the road and miss me by inches . It got so bad when I stepped out of my bathroom in my room I began to look both ways in case a bike would shoot through my room . Its always been dangerous on the roads but I've never seen it like this , no one has a minute and no one has any manners its crazy .

You could well be right once peoples expectations are raised they expect more, nothing wrong in that . And I won't even start about sponsors and some of the crazy sums of money they send . Now OK the over payers will trot out the same old chestnut " My money up to me " as will the sponsors but this really is getting crazy . I'm not a cheap charlie trying to screw people for a bargain but people need to get real here . My belief is that all this overpaying comes from insecurity so the guy believes he must blow all potential competition out of the water by paying way over the odds .... but is he getting 2,3.4 10 times the service ? Is he shite . It Isn't the end of the world you will rarely get turned down over money but some people really need a reality check . Do these good guys think their extra tips go straight home to mum and dad ? Or could it be the Thai guy with the bouffant hair and half grown mustache at the local karaoke who is laughing all the way to the bank ? But then again - My money up to me !!!!!!

The availability of cheap fantastic food 24/7 is really something to behold . I just love taking a wander and eating when I'm hungry instead of set mealtimes , in Thailand it doesn't feel odd to have a bowl of noodles or chicken and rice at 4 AM . My favourite tum yam gung at Pattaya Klang , washed down with a banana shake cheap as chips too .

It becomes addictive for sure and very anti social though I suppose we have all been guilty of it in one shape or form at some instance These things do seem to take over people's lives I've seen couples in bars and restaurants not conversing at all but engrossed in their phones , you really couldn't be that busy or need it that bad .

Yes Lita goes out of her way to give out free food and shots to customers no wonder she gets frustrated when guys have cheap shots at her on forums . The problem with all this is that people expect western standards in a third world environment , in western countries bars are run as a business and staff are trained , everything is geared to getting and keeping customers , keeping them happy in the place so they become a regular and eat and drink their regularly . The Thailand model is different most bars are meeting places where guys go to take out the staff for the evening or take them upstairs , I doubt the bar staff are trained in shaking cocktails or advising you on the best malts on offer . The best places work well because there's a western owner or partner around who can implement what the customers want beyond that its pot luck some places are good some not so good . Lets face it most of these girls running bars have just struck lucky and bagged a western boyfriend who's financing the venture they have zero experience beyond that , the smart ones listen to the customers but many simply don't give a shit .

Perhaps its a case that when you've been around a while longer you need forums and meet ups less . I remember when I started going to Thailand the old ATS and 69 Forums where vital to finding out who worked where, and where the bars and places to go where etc etc . Once you've a few trips under your belt you tend to have a few contacts plus social media has fast over taken forums as an on the spot way of getting information about the LB's . When you start out the world revolves around forums after a while it just becomes a place to keep in touch with guys you know over the years .

I've been introduced to a few guys like that , you know this is such and such from THE FORUM they always greet you with a big smile probably hoping you are gonna compliment them on their posts or something . If you say you don't really read or bother with forums the conversation stops there . To be honest I take people as I find them so why should meeting some guy in a ladyboy bar be any different to any other walk of life ? We are all normal people (mostly ) It seems rather shallow to me that some stranger would feel the need whether to speak to you or not based on your perceived cyber profile .
