Last evening was short one for me as I succumbed early to a case of olde phartism. Nevertheless I managed to get a few decent photos to keep the thread of one of our fave bars flowing. A welcome was made to Su, who is a GG! Notably, she is also a most pleasant addition to Mama Em's stable.

Now i have a restaurant licence. so welcome to the new Emmy bar and restaurant.

As a moderator of 2 other lb forums (though one is practically in hibernation), I have gone though numerous flame wars with unhappy/disgruntled board members. Ultimately an online fight is futile, a waste of time and no benefit to the forum. The main idea of a forum is to contribute useful information to forum members, discuss and agree or disagree, educate at times and entertain at others. Spending time on flame wars, gripes, score keeping of grudges, etc. is detrimental, and in fact creating an atmosphere which some of you should have left behind from past unhappy forums you were members of. I'll leave it at that.

The New Bar thread has been deleted at Petesie's request. On behalf of all our forum members who enjoyed his posts and his bar, we are sorry to see him go. Frankly, I don't blame him. Why put up with abusive attacks? Petesie is one of the rare bar owners who besides promoting his bar, posted some great pics of the surrounding area. Thank you Petesie for your contributions and the best of luck with New Bar.

It's such a shame Pdoggg as I was already gearing up to take the plunge and go for the trip then they stopped the test and go and now that they have reintroduced it they have added a double the expense element as I would already be in my place of residence comfortably after day 1 test at the sha + hotel then during day 5 would have to leave my residence to get re booked into a sha+ hotel well I think I know when to call it quits and this as they say " is the straw that broke the camels back " I have truly had enough .

Petsies contributions to all the forums are right up there for being informative and entertaining . This for me is a big loss

I agree with you, rx. Who can forget the TLF shitfests. Do you remember when Stogie Bear (owner and mod) challenged another BM to a fight outside Guess Bar in the Raja parking lot? They made this latest ordeal seem like nothing. TLF and LB-69 were great forums at the time though. Are batman, Dixon and you still mods at LB-69?

This week, I met a lady and compatriot who has developped a business in Hong Kong for 30 years. She decided to close the business and retire in her home country with her Chinese (HK citizen) husband. That's how I would interpret it Tel. My guess is that the price of the Day 5 booking will include the 2nd PCR test just like the Day 1 booking includes the 1st PCR test and transportation. A friend of mine recently took his second PCR test which was originally supposed to be an ATK test. He went to the hospital to take the test. It was extremely disorganized and they said they would notify him if he was negative. But he was unclear exactly how they would notify him. I suspect that there are many people who arrived with a farang SIM, now have a Thai Sim, changed hotels and are impossible to track down. So this would be a way for the hospital to know exactly where you are if you need to be quarantined. I suppose things will be clearer in a few days.

it's bedtime in Europe and of all the problems and regrets in my life the one I am feeling really bad about right now is Petesie's silencing... I wish I could unspeak what I posted as I will continue to carry the stigma that led me to make that post regardless. I think there was good evidence as to why we follow lb's. Apart from a couple of girls at 10.21, there was not much to see. I must admit I do find it hard to watch his videos.

I am sorry as well Petesie is gone and on-the-ground coverage is lost to the Board and I take full responsibility for the post that prompted his decision. It had nothing to do with Newbar, but rather with something that happened online between us and that pains me a lot. Pehaps Petesie might have stayed if our leader gave him my head on a plate and I am grateful he did not and I RESPECT! him even more.
