  2. More than 100 people, a mix of Thais and foreigners, have been arrested in a South Pattaya raid. The two restaurants in question had, according to police, secretly become bars and shisha lounges. By Thai law all bars and entertainment venues were currently closed nationwide. The arrest follows Pattaya police being notified from tips from what they described as local anonymous concerned citizens as they were reportedly concerned about the Covid -19 situation and chance of the virus potentially spreading. From midnight to around 2:00 A.M. this morning (June 26th) a team from the Chonburi Provincial Police led by Colonel Santi Kornkasem and the Pattaya City Police raided two places which are the ‘The Garden 168’ and ‘Mo Salah’ bar and restaurant starting at 11:30 P.M with the Garden and ending with Mo Salah around 1:00 A.M. 121 Thais and foreigners were reportedly found drinking alcohol, socializing and mingling without masks or social distancing, and using shisha and similar smoking devices at the places. The shisha was only found at the Mo Salah location. Police arrested 29 people from ‘The Garden 168’ and 72 from ‘Mo Salah’. Additionally 20 more people allegedly drinking and gathering in groups on Pattaya beach nearby were also arrested for violation of Covid-19 rules such as social distancing. At Mo Salah it took nearly twenty minutes for police to successfully gain entry where the majority of the people were in a special vip area on an upper floor according to police. Several people attempted to hide from police, including under discarded branches, in restrooms, and on nearby rooftops but all were caught according to Chonburi police.

  3. BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand will close hundreds of construction sites and prevent workers from leaving their camps for a month, its prime minister said on Friday, in an effort to tackle the country’s worst coronavirus outbreak so far. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-health-coronavirus-thailand-idUSKCN2E1198

  5. I saw that reported in a certain not to be named Pattaya newspaper. but the report said it was because there were about 29 women performers and a male livestreamer there. Emmy only has three performers usually at her livestreams, and her three guest cats shouldn't count!

  6. Yeah, he insisted taxes were illegal quoting some law dating back to 1913. I'm just fascinated with him , but any tax evader should be caned in public, fucking parasites, imo. He was/is a brilliant mind obviously. Some say he isn't dead, but had to make an escape.

  7. Great video! He seems like a real character. RIP He ran for president in the Libertarian primary in '16 and '20. They don't care too much about culture wars. On class warfare issues they oppose more tax for billionaires and also oppose NHS or Eurostyle healthcare so not for me. But he seemed like a fun loving guy and committed suicide, which I believe is his right, rather than have a shitty end to his life in prison.

  9. Nick Jackson is a great nomination. Have many fond memories chatting with Nick over the years whether it was upstairs in his office at 'the place to stay' or being introduced to ladyboys in the old bar under tiger disco. A man who recommended Eden club in Bangkok as a must do. And amusingly said to me once "Careful of the night monsters"

  10. Nick was a good lad for a sure, a very amiable bloke. This pic and placard was on display in Cocktails & Dreams back in the day. American guy Tom (left) was a real character too, ran his 'The Place to Stay' Guesthouse with military precision, there was a sheet of rules awaiting you on arrival , thankfully ladymen were not banned from his establishment.

  11. Good post The-Sith. It captures my initial friendly feelings when I first met those 2 that led to the angst I now feel for not inducting them into the Hall of Legends which I would like to be as representative as possible for the sake of its credibility. But other than The-Sith, this thread is now sailing too close to the wind and perhaps I should not have started it. But my intention was precisely what we are seeing: to acknowledge fellow mongers who are legends in their own right, but that I (Rom) don't think belong in my made-up Hall of Legends because they are too controversial for so many other fellow mongers. A few months back I had given the example of The Apeman & Nigel who are even bigger legends but were prone to illegal shit and humiliating ladyboys, which disqualifies them for the Hall of Legends as I envision it. Ethicswise it's never kosher to badmouth our peers, but at least we are doing it in the open and they can defend themselves if they wish. Unlike at PY where they still have whole threads badmouthing me in Advanced Members where I was not allowed. When I defended myself in Retarded Members they just hoovered me. I have redrafted my OP to moderate my language and would suggest if at all possible BMs do likewise and keep it understated if/when they post ahead. The one constructive thing that already came out of this trauma group therapy thread was P&G's suggestion to induct "the actual creator of C&D". The name was Nick! Nick Jackson! He was a Patong beach pathbreaker with a remarkable story with a sad end. He died! in regards to which the Hall of Legends is partial to departed mongers. Nick is hereby nominated by me for the 2021 intake. Anyone has anything to say about him ? ... I have and it's all good.

  12. it all happened very quickly indeed JSG. Very quickly. Emmy was given two days notice to get out. So we quickly announced the farewell bash the night before she had to leave and hand the keys over the next day. The next morning i got a call from Emmy in the early morning... "Blind Boy! i have a new bar on soi 3...come and look!". She had been expecting of course that she would have to leave all her stuff in the old Katty for the new owner. i went around to see a massive furniture chain between the old and new bar with Teya, Sara and others working their balls off carrying it all.. Good girls all. It's probably good that Sunny had already gone home with all her stuff or they'd still be moving everything.. Talking of whom, we know that things can be a little surreal and changeable in Sunny world **, but as QG announced in another thread, Sunny will be back before the end of this month. But, don't quote me... Sunny world is a strange place to inhabit. A bit like Pokki world... she phoned Emmy to say she wants to start work again in Katty on the 10th... but no sign of her yet. This has happened before. I think Emmy just says... "okay, come back, we'll see you if and when we see you." Emmy was actually planning that last day to walk around Soi Buck looking at bar availability. She was so lucky to be offered the new place, after all the shit she had been through we were all so pleased for her. re the awful Karaoke near the old Katty, didn't happen that often, it was mainly from the woman that has the 'Norway Bar' opposite the old Katty. The same woman that would come running across to the Katty when she heard the bell ring. Until Emmy put a stop to it. In the new location who knows re Karaoke. There's the Joker bar a bit down the road and opposite, and the two or 3 open bars further down. All of them seem pretty laid back and mellow.. But this is Thailand....... the Gentleman's club a bit further down from Katty seems to have reopened in the last couple of days... but those places are never really Karaoke joints... most stuff happens inside .i suspect if Emmy makes a go of the new bar.. Soi 3 Jomtien will become Ladyboy central.. quite a few LBs live on it [cheap rooms] with Sunny and Mind to move in soon too. Mind is room hunting at the moment. **I'm pretty sure that Alain will remember some of Sunny's plans in the last few days that he was here.... we went through Big C...7-11.. opening a salon, becoming an Astronaut, working on the farm in Chiang Rai, and probably 20 other things. Glad you made it home okay BIg Al... hopefully see you later in the year... you still owe us a Meet and Greet! the last two planned ones never happened due to circumstances like Covid and what have you.
