I have to say Poppy bar was a lot more appealing, especially for those nights sitting outside sipping a few cold beers, Poppy had good comfortable seats and a custom built outside area. I believe Nok was made an offer she couldn't refuse to move back across the street, so grabbed it with both hands.

Yes when I was up in the village, only my girl, a gay lad (who died) and one other Yank spoke English - well I not sure about the Yank!!!!!! I felt embarassed and sad that I could not talk to Palmmy's very disabled grandmother or her friends. But as you get older your brain can only cope with so much. My dad spoke 6 languages he said it was like being able to play music you either could or you could not. I never really cracked any language so no hope with Thai, tired Welsh started and gave up when I realised how easy it made French and German look. So will have hope that when I go to ,my friend will do all the talking and expect I will do all the paying. Keep safe all of you

Yes agree nearly did it 5 years ago but when I looked at what I would save in rent here in UK, council tax, electric water gas car tax petrol etc. it looked a good deal as I had already done house and bought car - sadly when i looked into the cost of my pills and potions plus my health insurance and the loss of my business it became more expensive to go to Thailand Also I am lousy at languages, hate the heat above 32degrees and totally hate snakes so I was born in the UK and will no doubt die in the UK though I have been coming to Thailand for 47 years

I thought the same when I moved here but completely the opposite and you will find the same Annat with your girls family . I said from the start I am not a rich man and have never been asked to help the family with out getting the money back in a specified time , everyone needs a hand out now and then In my case I have got it back in full . It will be a culture shock at first but it will work out in the long run , its way different living full time than staying a couple of weeks

I think the only people who will be upset are Cuban-Americans in Florida who have been plotting the destruction of Fidels Cuba. I'm so pleased with the procurement of the 5G contract, after heavy lobbying from the chinese , our Post and Telecom Authority basically told Huawei to go fuck themselves and gave the contract to 3 domestic companies.

And people wonder why the disdain of the chinese. Horrible, horrible people. The only thing in their mind is money.

The Ducks duely arrived yesterday, 100 in number, so more added work for my girl. But she put the rubber to bed on Monday after 7 weeks of working nearly every night. For those of you who do not realise, working on a Thai farm is gruelling labour. 7 dyas a week 52 weeks a year. Many families will be pleased that the Ladyboy member has returned home and can take a lot of the manual labour off elderly parents shoulders. While my girls family appreciated the money she sent - they really appreciate her return and she works bloody hard. Of course they really appreciate that she has silly old friend who send a few bhts now and then. They are suggesting I go live there so I can be looked after - must have ATM stamped to my forehead. Well as the money has gone to the ducks and following me being a dick - my two favourites at Sweethearts will have to do without their odd drinks for a while.

It is interesting. It seems many of the Thai working girls do what I have noticed the Latino working girls from mexico, salvador, honderas, etc do here in the States. They send a good share of their earnings back home to build a house for their parents, and help other family members move forward. It seems like quite a few of the working girls in Thailand have done just that and "moved back" to their family homes, except that the family home they are moving back to, for some, is substantially better than the one they left with they went to work in the city.

Sadly, the investors weren't "capitalists" in my book, just "petite bourgeousie" trying to get the same type of return that credit card companies (Visa, Mastercard} have legally "earned" for years. I think there are many credit card offerings in the US with an effective APR well over 21 percent. I see big business inThailand is as shady as many here in the US with their "not official bank offerings" claim. If this were in the US, I would gladly take the case on behalf of the investors under the concept of "Ostensible Authority". Any person walking into a bank rightly assumes the bank branch manager is offering authorized products of the bank. The bank should be on the hook to the customers on this one.

I'm not answering any questions, but 3.5% interest per month was too good to pass on. As of Wednesday morning staff at the bank branch in the centre of this mess have been “instructed” to tell affected customers that “they will not be reimbursing the monies” as “the products sold to customers were not official bank products”. Fuckers. Stories like these make my anti capitalist heart warm. Fuck the capitalists. Hope they invested more than they admit.
