even more exciting 7-11 updates ! The junction of beach Rd and soi Wat boonchana [known locally as 'Soi PD motorbike shop' or previously as 'Soi Nicki'....] Duke...are you there? do you remember some time back talking about Nicki? when you gave us directions to find her...most of us following the directions ending up halfway to Cambodia? Well, 7-11 are quite obviously keeping tabs on the forums and have been for some time. They have opened a new big store right on the corner of the 2 roads and made it so much easier to find nowadays. Here's a photo i took yesterday afternoon. They are obviously grateful to you for putting the road on the map.

But besides that rubbish above i think that most of the expats here in jomtien, the retired ones, are quite content with things as they are with all this lockdown stuff. Talked to a ladyman I like in Patts yesterday: "Now Pattaya have covid . I scare." Authorities sure did a number on them. Nevermind barebacking and smoking ice. Covid will kill you! She's by a long shot nowhere near Sindys status as an earner, so I send her money for food. She lost her room, no money for rent, and is now living with a bunch of them in a small room. I was optimistic up until the fall, September, October but now, I don't know. What a nightmare this turned out to be. Even if we get the vaccine soon I'm starting to doubt we'll set foot in Los this year. Thank you Chy-na.1 point

Talking to Sindy today, she seems to think the bars will open again on Monday. One thing struck me though, she and the rest of the girls in the bar are scared, and I mean petrified of this virus. They seem to be of the opinion that if they get it, it is a death sentence!! I tried to re-assure her that given the young age and lack of any underlying health issues, they may get a little bit sick, but it is certainly not a death sentence. However best to be cautious anyway for the next few weeks, better not having it at all.1 point

you're learning Seven! about the important things in life.. but it does seem that when these big ones open, small ones near to them are closed down. Two on beach road recently, it seems that 7-11 are going over to bigger stores with parking. Chester...hope you are feeling better. I did know about the new store, but was waiting for them to put the new shop sign up, honouring Duke.1 point

In a reversal, it seems for now Pattaya restaurants can remain open and serve booze to people who are eating. Must provide proper social distancing, close by 10PM, and customers must wear masks if not actually eating.1 point

Hopefully it is just gone dormant while the lockdown is in place. Em strikes me as someone who would be prepared for such an eventually and is acting in her best interests, that’s just pure speculation of course. With any luck this time next year some of us might be drunkingly singing and dancing on the podium on New Years to celebrate having our lives back.1 point

I find it tends to be the femboys who do this hand gesture stuff, and yes maybe they are trying to emphasise that they are feminine.
