Lets cut to the chase - Teya tonight !

Last night was an EPIC night as we beat one of the best teams in the pool league 2 frames to why not 1 frame to them , the owner of the restaurant / bar was not happy and walked out before the match was finished it was very close result 55.6% to why not 44.4% to them but you should have seen the scene our team went mad and Nam and I were the worse players of the night Catty sealed the deal in more ways than one she got the away team to ring the bell. And of course the other half got involved then it went downhill from there.

It may be that the Nightwish managers are on a lowish salary , without any profit-share bonus, in which case there is an arguement in favour. However, for any owner or manager with a profit share package , to be charging a premium for drinks bought in the spirit of friendship and camraderie seems well over the top to me.

I rang the insurance company and my premium for medical conditions would be £64, so a total of £360 for 2 weeks travel insurance! But I suppose that is what it is now with coronavirus. I have booked and paid for the two weeks in January - £1500 after discounts. I think that's quite good for flights and 2 weeks all inclusive - nothing to spend there except tips. I have to get visa from Cuban Embassy here which costs £49. I'll have a look round online to see if I can get covid cover insurance for less anywhere else, otherwise I'll take the travel company's insurance.

No. You say you wanted to visit "Before the USA destroyed Cuba." In reality you mean it's in your selfish interests for Cuba to remain undeveloped so you would enjoy a cheap vacation. You are disguising your hatred of the USA so you feel good about visiting. If Cuba is a paradise, why are people voting with their feet and leaving? But you have other prospects; Venezuela is one of Castros besties and the people there are living the dream. I've never heard of a Venezuelan leaving that workers paradise

I looked at the TUI website last night. Holiday charter flights are now allowed into Varadero Airport from yesterday 15 October. So holidays available in Varadero and Jibacoa with flights from Gatwick London. Varadero is a 20 mile long beach, about 90 miles outside Havana, lined with tourist hotels. When I went there on my first trip which would have been around 1986 there wasn't much else there. Cubans were only allowed in if they worked in the tourist hotels. I found it boring, though ok if you just want to sit or walk along a nice beach. I almost booked a two week stay in a Jibcoa hotel, for £1700 including £295 Covid insurance, but didn't as the insurance is likely to cost me more as I have pre-existing medical conditions. I think I'll ring the insurance company to find out how much extra I would have to pay. I haven't seen anything here about the Cuban Government opening up other parts of Cuba - apart from Varadero Airport from 15 October. Maybe other parts will be open later.

* Geek Flash: Most cameras, but particularly a phone with a tiny sensor, will struggle in low light to get a crisp shot, unless the sensor iso (sensitivity to light ) is a high number which causes a grainy photo, or it uses a slow shutter speed (the duration of time the shutter is open to let in light) which causes motion blur while the shutter is open. The solution in this situation is to use the flash. (Usually a bolt of lightening icon on the screen) In a video the subject is moving so this blurring doesn’t show like it does in a still. As you cannot use flash with video, a work around in low light is to turn on the flashlight feature on the phone while recording.

oh i know how to use it QG. But the problem is that it won't connect to my computer, software problem on the Camera. greater brains than mine [i don't mean a gekko] have tried too.

bbg has a camera he can sell you. Hardly used as he couldn't work out how to take pics with it.

Saturday night Nam & I had to visit the old bar which is now called How Come by why not as some of other customers wanted to see us so we brought Tina and Catty along , big mistake lol. Tina is usually the first to fall then as usual Catty was next in line

It was a fun night somewhat unexpected as the bar was quiet until around 11. I'm not a good photographer; we need Bumblebee back. Here's a couple; will resize more later. The clothes are coming off!

exactly Petesie. Just wondering here because i don't have a clue. Is there signage in the bars stating the manager drinks cost? or verbal notification maybe? if any of those then okay... it's up to the customer then, but if it's a hidden cost.... naughty naughty.

It’s a self defeating policy that sends a negative message. I understand the ethos behind it by boosting the guys fairly low salary but for every guy that would have normally bought the fella a drink there’s now going to be many that simply won’t.

Well, let's see, if the farang manager is a really cute and petite and slim femboy who full-body shaves regularly and has a girly giggle and is a good kisser, then sure, he'll get a manager drink out of me. But seeing as how I've never ever in my life seen a farang bar manager in Thailand who fits that description I think I'm safe from ever buying a "manager drink."

This is simply the last episode of the bar system. it touches me one without moving the other. I understood a long time ago that the majority of bar managers want to pluck customers attracted to ladyboys as quickly as possible. I do not judge but I decide and I act. When I realized I was viewed as a ham, I moved towards new horizons.Only those who accept to be ripped off are actually sucked like this. Others should see bar managers for who they are and what they do: they hold you affectionately pretending to be friendly but they only think about making dough whether you come out satisfied or not.
