  1. Thailand’s Thammasat University has taken a big step in the recognition and promotion of the rights of transgender students on campus. An announcement, issued and signed by Associate Professor Kesinee Vitoonchart, the Rector of the university, allows students, from Tuesday, to dress in accordance with the gender with which they self-identify. The new rule applies to students when in the classroom, when taking examinations, undergoing training, contacting officials and attending ceremonies, including graduation ceremonies. They must, however, follow the university’s gender relevant dress code. All university staff must treat transgender students by recognizing their human dignity, liberty and gender equality. Insulting, discriminating, bullying or intimidating transgender students, or students who dress according to their gender identity, will be regarded as violations of discipline. https://www.thaipbsworld.com/transgender-students-officially-recognized-at-thammasat-u/ Thammasat has four campuses. one of them is on the Darkside in Pattaya.

  2. Its rice planting season, here is a bit on the process. After the ground is prepared for planting there are two ways its done . Sticky rice crop . 1) the seed is hand cast or they use a fuel driven blower that is carried on your back ( sorry no picks of that ) , then 3 to 4 months later it is ready for harvest . 2) The seed is hand cast in a concentrated form for maximum coverage, it gets to about 30 cm high then pulled out and put in bunches ready for planting in a prepared field by hand or tractor. Then by September- ish the crop is ready for harvest. 1 ,2 ) The planted crop 3 , 4 ) Pulled out shoots , bunched up and ready for planting 5,6 ) A couple more of the before and after . I will take some pics as the crop matures

  3. the media center :) , the yard after Mom decided they needed to level the yard more (the bathroom is now probably a foot below grade and that hacked tree is dead and burned), the "fence" (I preferred the old rusty strands of barb wire, you could see all around then), the community center? build, and the bane of my existence there (along with a dozen CONSTANTLY crowing roosters, and the barking dogs which like to socialize in front of the house as I am trying to drop off to sleep), it's about 100 feet away from the bed and at the same level as my poor besieged ears, a machete from El Salvador, made by a German company, at work in Udon, Mom enjoying her back treatment courtesy of grandson, and a show of some sort happening at Central.

  4. Mind certainly has her fans JSG. i don't know personally but some guys really rate her highly. As you say, very quiet but no problem with that. When she is on form she can be up there with Teya and Sunny. Mind is around but still hoping to get home to see mum in Laos for a while once the border opens. She [Mind] has one of those gorgeous teak houses in Laos.... very big. Pokki has gone off somewhere, don't know where, but is probably still contactable by the other girls.

  5. or you could eat junk food all your life, sit watching a big screen in off hours, have a stressful job, lose a legs to diabetes because you've become morbidly obese, spend too many days after that on visits to hospital and doctors, then croak with a heart attack. (number 1 way to go, cancer 2 I believe). Life, sterilized for your protection? good luck with that. (remember those paper banners on toilet seats?).

  6. Yup. Fuct. Nah, we'll be ok. Its a matter of calculating the risks. As Piggdogg said, living life is not without risks. Getting on an airplane, riding a motorbike, visa run in a minivan at 160 km/h for 10 hours, rimming a ladyman. Not long ago at a golf course here a guy took a ball ,drive from tee, right on his forehead. He died instantly. What are the odds. If you're not willing to take any chances in life you might as well stay home and never leave the house. We need to be aware of things, keep up and maybe watch the news every now and then. ( I'm happy to provide news to dixon in this thread).

  7. Sorry for the doom and gloom: ER doctor: The coronavirus is lurking no matter how much we wish things were normal https://www.yahoo.com/news/er-doctor-coronavirus-lurking-no-160102539.html The patients came in one after another: leg swelling, abdominal pain, migraines, mini-strokes, sexually transmitted infections, seizures, confused nursing home patients, a collapsed lung, even a woman asking for a pregnancy test. All the while, I kept waiting for the breathless and blue COVID-19 patients — where were they, and when would they come? Every time a few hours passed and I slipped into being the emergency physician I used to be, this virus reared up, slapped me around and reminded me not to be complacent. It hid in dark and unexpected corners, in patients whose medical presentations would have not had me first think COVID-19. It seems to affect everything. As a result, every sense of my security in medicine has been lost. In a two-day shift, I was tricked more than once. I should have known better. Whether people want to believe it or not, the virus is still out there, lurking. I never suspected it in the woman with good old-fashioned chest pain and vomiting until I saw her X-ray with the classic COVID-19 findings of fluffy infiltrates throughout her lungs. Or the woman with a seemingly ordinary blood clot in her leg; but alas, her blood was abnormally clotting thanks to COVID-19.

  8. This post summarizes the 18 BM and mod posts + 3 of mine that followed my Ploy/Golden Gun post in the original TR at PY (which, for those who don't know, is short for ‘Pyongyang’ which is how the People's Republic Ladyboy Board of No-Dissent is referred to here at The Romscars Club). I had expected PY’s BMs to instantly recognize Ploy and cheer at the sight of his huge cock, but no one did. So I expressed my bewilderment, which was instantly used as a false pretext for the threadfucking to start right on p.1 of my TR led by the BM sexpat who posts mostly to condescend on lesser BMs not self-exiled to the Naklua-Pattaya-Jomtien Corridor of Enlightenment (no, not the rabid, semi-literate one; the blasé one with the smooth prose). To be specific, he passive-aggressively lectured me in the 3rd person (as in "he this ... he that" addressed to all other BMs but not me) to "be patient as the +1s would come", which he knew would sting because I had not asked about any +1s, only if anyone had recognized Ploy! Back in 2017, PY had 3 mods, and one had been assigned to police my TR. But instead of quietly hoovering the threadfucker’s post, he PMed me to tell me not to pay attention to it and carry on with the TR. I did not know I could, as OP, demand of moderation to hoover hostile posts until much later in the TR when another mod took pity on me and offered to. So I chose instead to tell the threadfucker to fuck off, which he did and never returned. But his threadfucking mission had been accomplished and set the tone for a heckle-infested TR with his sexpat pals duly following suit with more posts disparaging me, this time for my “thin-skin”. The policing mod posted perfunctorily appealing to all BMs to let me carry on with the TR. Only when I responded breaking threadfuckers balls wholesale did the mod finally hoover a couple of their posts … along with my unsparing crazy-funny response! In parallel with the sexpat BM's threadfucking, a few other BMs posted to bitch at me after mistaking (or pretending to) the undried gold paint on Ploy’s cock for shit and to accuse me of degrading and injuring Ploy by painting him with toxic media. What had happened was that Ploy got impatient and did not let the paint on his cock dry long enough for the excess to be removed and those were the only pics I managed to snap before he stormed off to the shower and washed the paint off. I put to rest concerns with the health of Ploy's middle leg by following with a couple of posts with pics of Ploy washing his cock, of the skin-SAFE body paint product, and of the 2 of us back in action.

  9. That's absolutely brilliant SP. I've never seen anyone I know planting rice before. Better than anything on TV, so well done.

  10. It was my first go at planting today , I was a lot slower than the guys doing it for years . They plant about 1 a second ( My speed was about 1 every 5 seconds) . The problem with hand or blower casting , you know you have covered it all then the rain comes and washes it all over the place . We will plant two types of rice , Sicky rice ( yes it is a strain of rice ) and Jasmine rice ,( I prefer Jasmine) The last photo was of next doors crop planted by tractor, so we didn't do a bad job .
    1 point
  11. I've always been curious if replanting it spread out and in regular rows produces a bigger yield. Polly used a tractor rotary spreader last year and few bald spots. She probably could have had the guy use half the amount of seed. This year she went back to hand broadcasting and got the typical whacking great bald spots everywhere so she'll have to wade into the much and bunch some up to fill those spots. Also, is sticky rice a kind of rice strain? or is it just the steaming of it that makes regular rice sticky? LOOKIN GOOD there, seems someone has done this before.

  14. sorry, old timers moment there :) Plus I had a bunch of tabs open on different topics, and mighta been thinkin bout the Katty girls. Mind is on my mind...she was always quiet, which I've come to really like, and pleasant and SO not pushy I wondered if she really was there to pull in punters. I don't recall anyone saying they took her to the loom. Plus Pokki/Pocky/Pokky? I think I will take both if I ever get back into LOS. I am afraid the junta boyz will ban USA entry for some time.
    1 point
  15. I suspect the junta sheds no tears for places that cater to those "dirty farang". Possibly they are hoping this takes OUT all those nasty street vendors and other table shops in the way of their plan to make LOS like any other tourist destination...filled with over priced hotels, restaurants and malls. Soi 18? i thought it was soi 4...my bad, gotta go look at a map again :)

  16. Kok Noi I think, I was told it means small village, an understatement, it's two roads meeting at a T surrounded by many miles of rice and cane. the last 2 are of the big city Phen :) Sadly that good food place is no longer there DAMN but they served GOOD stuff. OH, and the hut they hung out in is knocked down now. "Dad" has an old tuk tuk and he shows up from time to time to collect the massive pile of plastic bottles and other trash that Mom collects, and off they go to turn it into I dunn, a few hundred baht?

  17. I was helping Polly burn some bamboo left on the edge of the field when they cleared along the canal. It's my alternate hat of choice, boonie being #1 Actually the sun helmet is better but you can't find em in LOS, so I wear it sparingly. Held off the head by a band with straps inside the hat. You get airflow and it's light :P The early one on the right obviously has more airflow, new one has a bit too much lacquer or whatever. thanks for the likes...I've got some more.

  18. Yes it does, and though it would not win House of the Year in Home and Garden, it provides everything you would need without having to keep up with the Jones'es. What's with David Livingstone with the Pith helmet doing in Thailand?. All he needs is the native porters following behind!.

  19. yeah, similar, cept for that rounded end I guess. I got one like that for Mom. Cost a bit more, off the back of a traveling shop truck. I been meaning to fit my narang with a fat wood handle. Heavy as the blade is, you can really whump some sizeable stuff and then it wants to slip your grasp.

  20. It seems it is more common in Thailand than in most countries that pooyings chop of their partner's member. Not very ladylike which reminds me of the one liner, "that was no lady; that was my wife".

  21. Seem like the ones we use here for all sorts of chopping , I used one on the scorpion that tried to take my arm off the other night .

  22. the bamboo handle is deadly as the base of my thumb can attest to, chopping up saplings to toss in the truck. Good thickness and taper, takes a SHARP edge. I think I paid about 150 for it, maybe a lil more. The other is cruder, much thicker blade, like a cross between a machete and a hatchet :) Neither is what I'd call superb quality, but for the money, good, and will do the job. I mean you can see on each side of the blade...file/sanding marks, they ripple and dip in places, not a flat face by a long shot, but I cannot afford superb. I would rate the Western Bowie I paid $65 for years ago as very good. I'd go to war with that baby :) I see some joker on ebay selling one like the machete/hatchet one for $49. geez, I think that one also cost around 150 baht, less than $6. And he's sold 18 of em. I'm in the wrong business haha.

  23. They both look like Aranyik Knives, I have the Aranyik E Toh and it made short work of cutting down Bamboo, superb quality and will last a lifetime .

  24. yeah, local expat's father in law just wasted away and died recently, it takes a while. This guy was drinking from sun up to sun down, and just laying around. Smoking was the least of his worries. If your brain is SO weak that you cannot think up a better way to wait for death (that's just called living to most of us) then perhaps you should grow some balls and top yourself instead of making family and village watch your slow demise. I mean granted, country life can be boring as hell, but damn... This old guy could not even eat the last few weeks he just lay around out front for everyone to see, and waited for death. Meanwhile everyone that COULD took out life insurance policies on him.

  25. that sounds a bit bleak. yes i have seen the results of thai whiskey. my other half informed me last night her sisters s drunked husband (45) had a punch up with her younger brother (19) still in conscription with the army .i said he should know better , then she tells me it happens all the time, the older is drunk every night . and he is not an orphan in that life style . and he is a motor bike mechanic so its not as if he has nothing to occupy himself. just plain stupid is all.

  26. Polly has a little sewing biz, relocated from north of Pattaya, came home to "take car Mom", couple working knives I got for taking home, supplies for Mom to cop a buzz, some more shots of traffic that goes by. The crowd across the street is the funeral meeting for a very likeable young guy who died in construction in Bangkok. Terrible pity, the other brother survives, wasted on that nasty white whiskey. So it goes

  27. oh no Stoolie, I'm about as poor as they are. Just my ladyboy "wife", tho that seems to be fading away to just close friends. These are old photos from around 2015 or so. Much of it has changed in small ways...the house in distance on right of road going to highway is GONE. 4 or 5 guys TOTALLY dismantled it over a period of a few days and they built a new one set back more. Plus as my ladyboy can NOT leave ANYTHING as it is (boring she says) EVERY LITTLE THING on that property has changed ten times since then. They're on the 3rd gate (each one gets uglier). She's got some compulsion to try something new. ONE day I hear whacking in the back (there's an open area that might have at one time been planned as roofed, but is open)...I go back and she's smacking the cinderblock wall with the Estwing framing hammer I brought, and motions it's going down. I pushed on it, and it went DOWN easy. Now that area is open to a shade roofed kitchen area, or god knows what by now.

  28. they seem to love to hack stuff down, I don't get it, just when a tree or lawn is looking good, it's trimmed back to (death in one case I saw) not much, or hoe'd up. Don't see many cars here, lots of work vehicles tho. Dad is lookin pretty ripped for a guy around 70 eh? The bamboo pipe? well, it's boring there :) Nothing good to put in it tho. Occasionally an elephant wanders by, sometimes 2. Ya sense movement in the corner of your eye, look up and there is this great gray thing slowly moving by :) I gotta say this is one of the things I do love about the boonies. Also the locals...one old guy waves and says hello twice a day when he goes out to check on his buffalo in the fields. Gotta love the old dame using a farm cart to transport the kiddies.

  29. our palatial bed chamber, view out the front right upper floor window (my fav store upper left), some kinda big Do (Buddhist holiday?), typical dinner, view towards the highway (bout a mile), again towards the store, with across from it a bigger shop, beauty shop and little coffee stand, oh look! could that be cane burning off? haha, some neighbors (thru my fav fence, bamboo, now it's some crappy cobbled together metal job), the little shop, the bigger one with beauty and coffee shop on right and the ladies sewing circle in front of the beauty shop

  30. We have started getting the rice fields ready by burning the old crop, then the tractor will come in and brake the ground up before the rain come so then the planting process can start. Rice seed will be used instead of seedlings , it takes a little longer for the crop to mature before harvesting but less labor involved . I will post more photos once the planting starts. WARNING: please refrain from making smart ass comments as they will be removed . Thanks .
