  1. Some bad news reported by the Stickman. Casanova and Mercury Bars are no more in Nana Entertainment Plaza - having not been able to make it through the COVID 19 loss of business. Also some gg bars are closed as well: Playskool, Rainbow 1 & 2, London Calling, and outside - Hillary 4. The NEP owners are offering some strong incentives for taking over the empty spots, but it would be a big gamble as it may take up to 2 years for tourism to get back to normal in LOS. To the end of an institution - the oldest LB bar in Bangkok, and possibly Thailand, Casanova closed.

  4. Thank you everyone for your responses. I think I get a refund on my ticket now. Hopefully, within the next 12 months treatment or vaccine found and I can do the trip.

  5. I cut WAY down on how much I was drinking about 6 months ago. It was causing me all kinds of issues. Was dealing with gout, depression, stomach pains, insomnia, weight gain, joint pain, etc. I had no idea till I cut it way down all of those issues disappeared pretty much over night. Now I only have a couple of beers or some wine on the weekends with meals. Will occasionally have a bit whiskey or rum, but I keep it to no more than one or two. Any more than that and I start feeling shitty the next day. The old meat suit just can’t take the punishment like it used to.

  10. Yes, it's all a mystery at present. Best wishes to SP and Dao, and I hope a safe opening will happen soon. I may not be first in the door, but the bus from Phitsanulok is on standby.

  11. At this stage markm we are not sure but have been told about the middle of this month , so fingers crossed we will open around then. I have a few girls still at home , they should be back in about a week and Dao and I will drive down in the ute for a few days . We are busy with the house being built and that should be finished around the end of June and are also busy on the farm so we won't be in Pattaya for long .

  14. I was supposed to be flying out of Ringway Airport (Manchester) this afternoon en-route to Pattaya for a 29 night trip, alas it was not mean't to be due to this Covid-19. C'est la Vie but all is not doom and gloom as I am really enjoying the weather here in the UK at the moment , I don't live a mundane life (imho) in my home country nor daydream about being back in Thailand every five minutes, so life ain't that bad for me

  15. Sorry Seven but I only look at world figures occasionally. But congratulations to Sweden! Let's hope we are all on the downwards slope now, and that there won't be a second wave.

  17. They (whoever 'they' are) said that subsequent waves of the virus will likely be weaker than the first as many of those exposed to the first have died, leaving less carriers of the nasty variety to share with the rest of us. Perhaps it's time to break out Kool & The Gang .. Cel-e-brate good times .. Come on!

  20. @P&GThis has to be the most erudite threadfuck in the History of Ladyboy Boards, but we may as well go all in: I never read the seminal Diderot or Balzac sources you quote. What I read was the XIXth century Portuguese masterpiece "The Mandarin" by Eca de Queiros who elaborated on Diderot and Balzac's propositions. Here is the plot summary from the internet: Teodoro, a poor Portuguese civil servant in Lisbon, receives a visit from the Devil in disguise who offers him the chance of inheriting unlimited riches if he rings a bell placed on a book by his side, which will lead to the death of a rich Mandarin, Ti Chin-fu, in distant China. This Teodoro duly does, resulting in his inheriting the Mandarin's fortune and starting to spend enormous sums. However, he finds that fabulous wealth brings with it unexpected problems. In time, remorse sends him to China to look for the dead Mandarin’s family. Failing to find them, he returns to Lisbon still haunted by the crime. His attempts to renounce the inheritance come to nothing. Sensing that he is dying he bequeaths his millions to the Devil, with the observation that “The only bread that tastes good is the bread we earn day by day with our own hands: never kill the Mandarin”. Apologies to BMs perplexed by our neo-romanticist literary meanderings... r
