  1. This thread is a repository of my 2018 Romscar cartoons that were originally posted at Pyongyang and then regime-expunged (along with all the threads I ever started) in retaliation for me briefly announcing there the 2019 Romscars winners after I had been banned. At PY’s microcosmic level, it was the equivalent of the Nazis’ public burnings of “degenerate art” paintings by Jews that, more than punishing for contrived sins, self-deprived the Reich and posterity of one-of-a-kind creations. Not this time meine Führers! All my former threads at Pyongyang are fully backed up and I COULD easily repost all of the 2018 Romscars thread here at the Romscars Club. But I concede that it would be awkwardly excessive. So I will be posting only the more record-worthy Romscars 2018 cartoons with a short recap of the respective categories' winners. I start with the introductory cartoon to the 2018 Romscars that now serves as the page top image for The Romscars Club. Initially, I had sought to depict myself, the PY mods and a few chore BMs there. But once I began drawing, I kept adding more BMs and in the end I had 21 personages. For the record, here are the contemplated: 1-Aitch; 2-Jimmy Love(/Cargo)pants; 3-Lord Jim; 4-Hellokathoey; 5-LWFM; 6-cherjam; 7-Miguel; 8-fenton; 9-snoop-dawg; 10-Rom; 11-Rom’s wingman who is a lurker at PY and wishes to remain incognito; 12-loverboy; 13-Youngroy; 14-oldlover; 15-AlexP; 16-Petesie; 17-Kwan/Quinn; 18-KendoUK; 19-Ausmagoo; 20-Rinzler; 21-PY’s ladyboy logo with a proper size cock.

  4. India Could be Next Virus Hotspot With an ‘Avalanche’ of Cases India could become the next global hotspot for virus cases, with experts warning containment measures that proved successful elsewhere in Asia may not work in the world’s second-most populous country. Apart from its sheer size, India’s other challenge is the density of its population: 420 people live on each square kilometer (about 0.4 of a square mile), compared with 148 per square kilometer in China. Its cities are crammed with slums and low-income housing clusters where the living conditions are tight. While South Korea was able to test even asymptomatic people, India’s population “makes it extremely difficult,” said Dr. K. Srinath Reddy, adjunct professor of epidemiology at the T.H. Chan School of Public Health at Harvard University and president of the New Delhi-based health think-tank Public Health Foundation of India. https://www.yahoo.com/news/india-could-next-virus-hotspot-064016084.html

  8. One of our broadcasters, Ciara Kelly has a daily show on Newstalk here in Ireland and her show in on from midday to 2 pm. She has announced today that she has it now. She is broadcasting live from her house as I type and said she will talk the nation through it day by day as it develops and eventually goes. Now the thing is she is a qualified medical doctor, she changed career path a couple of years back to concentrate full time on broadcasting. She said this morning she has been diligently cleaning her hands for the past few weeks, along with taking other precautions and has not been abroad.

  13. A nice colourful reminder of the beauty in nature at this testing time for us all, well played Annat. The other half and I headed up to the local hills today just to get away from the smothering coverage of Covid 19 and get some fresh air safe in the knowledge that it was unlikely the virus would find us there. A nice respite for a few hours.

  16. Here in Australia they have now set a limit for non essential indoor gatherings to 100 people which will affect larger restaurants, pubs and clubs. Until 6 months ago my local pub was owned by a family group who have 6 or 7 pubs but has now been taken over by a large organisation that have 80 venues. The licensee has been retained and I asked him yesterday what will happen as the bar never has more than about 50 patrons at any one time. He said that he was awaiting a call from head office but likely the pub will close before Friday. Their reasoning that they are unable to keep patrons more than 1.5 metres away from each other especially in the restaurant with a family group and in the poker machine room where the machines are mostly lined up next to each other. I advised him that they are mad to close the whole venue as they will lose 100% revenue and likely still have to pay full time staff for a while. My suggestion to him was to close the restaurant, move tables in the bar area and keep suggesting to patrons to remain at a distance from each other. In the poker machine room (aka engine room as it is the main income generator and gives the pub its $34 million value) just shut down every 2nd machine. He did take my advice re poker machines and advised head office of 'his' plans so I will find out around 4pm after I walk to the pub to find out if its still open. I am predicting the next shortage in Australia is going to be packaged beer!!!

  18. Sure I'm not the only one but I have a hard time believing China's numbers as well
    1 point
  19. Very. Of course the numbers coming from here are wrong. Officially, Russia has just 114 confirmed coronavirus cases and no confirmed deaths. It's a remarkably small number for a country of 149 million people that shares land borders with 14 other countries, including a 4,200-kilometre boundary with China, where the coronavirus outbreak started.

  25. I missed the beginning of the show. But not many, ie 99 % of the people here are not wearing masks. The experts have been saying they have limited use unless the person wearing one has the disease, as no doubt we have all heard by now.

  31. Super Rich headquarters has the USD at 32.30 now. The spread between the Buy and Sell rate is 10 satang. Usually it is about 4 satang, sometimes as low as 3 for the USD (spread is higher for other currencies) but at times of high volatility the spread widens.

  35. Yeah, I guess this let's reality hit home. For all the cursing I sometimes do of my job, I am lucky, at the minute anyway, to be in an industry that isn't directly hit by this virus. In fact, due to all the panic buying, we can't keep up with demand, never seen it so busy. It will fall off eventually, but as I make packaging for the Pharma and food industries, people still have to eat, and will get sick no matter. No consolation to the poor people in the hospitality industry, my thoughts are with them and I hope they can get some government relief then come out the other side of this with a job to return to.

  38. Interesting piece. I hold the view that “radical feminists” are mental. Logical consistency is a concept that escapes too many of them. The only position I agree with when it comes to feminists re male-to-female transgender people is in competitive sport. It is highly problematic when trans women seek to compete with biological women in sport. It’s simply a matter of common sense and fairness.
