  1. I also don't like the fact that 'strangers' will be using the 'short time' rooms therefore putting my privacy and security (of valuables) at risk, at least those who that have booked rooms will (hopefully) have had their ID's or Passport's recorded by reception. I stayed at a well now known Guesthouse a couple of times 2 years ago in the Buakhao area (close too but not on soi 15) and the rooms to be fair were fantastic, the only downfalls were that you easily kick the door open as the lock on it was absolute rubbish and the safety box in this particular room wasn't even screwed to the wall, put me off big style and I won't return, especially as its now a Gentleman's Club with access to upstairs rooms

  2. It might be good for guys who are into late nights, but I like my sleep and I think it's going to be noisy above a late bar.

  3. For about a week Nicky's have been offering an 'Early Bird Special' breakfast for B130, it is available from 8am to 11am. It is the same as the normal breakfast, as shown above in Duke's post, minus the cereal and the optional extra cuppa. In other words, it is the second of the two images. Always good to have options but personally, if having a cooked breakfast, I'd always take the normal Nicky's breakfast for B165 without the time restriction. I don't eat that many cooked breakfasts but all this talk and thought of it has got my taste buds tingling. I think I'll have one later, for afternoonsies.

  4. I use that bus service when returning to bkk airport from Jomtien as tickets can be purchased 3 days before travel. But you can't buy tickets in advance from airport to Jomtien. So if next bus is already fully booked you have to wait another two hours for the next bus after that. I did do that last trip, as I couldn't check in to my accomodation before 2pm, so it was either wait in lobby for 2 hours, or wait in airport for 2 hours. But next time I'll get taxi to Jomtien, and bus back to bkk when I leave. It is a good service.

  5. Was watching netflix at the time... addicted to The Blacklist Felt the quake... wasn't too worried at first... then my chandelier starts swinging back and forth into the roof... glass began flying everywhere.... wall tiles are peeling off... then the whole building got the wobbles.... Wish it was a dream... On a positive - great cardio going up and down 9 stories via the stairs .... one lift was non operational and the other was grinding metal as it went up and down.. didn't inspire much confidence

  6. It has a discreet side entrance. Does if have a discreet rear entrance? The idea of staying above a ladyboy bar might sound like fun and might actually be fun for a few nights. But long term I wouldn't want bargirls see who I am bringing home. I don't think his arm would need to be twisted very much to bring the price down from 21K a month as that type of room rents for about 10K a month plus electric. Good chance there is no electric meter so there would have to be an all in rate. But maybe they really don't want monthly tenants, especially with high season on the horizon, until they figure out how many short time rooms they need. Generally big turnover is a hassle, but perhaps their weekly guests could turn out to be big spenders in the bar.

  8. Jimbo also added this Tbh, it would not be my bag to stay in digs above a ladyboy bar unless it was only for a day or two... discreet entrance or not.... could cause hassle if one is a 'butterfly' imho

  10. I shall post this here so it does not get lost in the Sweethearts Bar thread. Jimbo now has rooms for Rent above his ladyboy bar for those who like that kind of thing
