  1. I don't chat with farang bar owners, I'd rather talk to the ladyboys. I did talk to Jimbo at TJs as I was curious to find out if he was really as bigoted as he comes across as online, but having met him i don't think he is. I was more interested in the cabaret though. I will probably go to Sweethearts Bar next trip to check it out, but not to talk to Jimbo. I do like talking to Emmy at Katty Bar, not to ingratiate myself, but because she is a nice person and I like her. I'm a quiet introverted person and find it difficult to talk to people usually but find it easy with Emmy, and she does have good English which many of the younger lbs don't.

  2. I used to make the effort to chat to the farang bar owners in the past, but now with the exception of Josh at Baby Boom (because he is as mad as cheese and makes me laugh) and Nick at the Assienda I won't bother. Noel (jolski) is a really nice and interesting bloke but his bar Katoey's 'R' Us is just not my cup of tea, and to his credit is not offended by me saying so. I dont really class Scott ( Sensations), Petesie (New Bar) and Jimmy (69 Bar) as owners tbh. I do miss Karl at Ezy Bar though Edit..... I do post on the ladyboyspattaya forum a lot but not on the well known ladyboy bar threads and actually have most of them on my ignore list ( the exceptions being Baby Boom and lesser promoted ones like Duangjai, Hunny Bunny, Fantasy Lounge and Nid Cha) and will only give them a look every now and then

  3. When i was new to the scene, I would be much more inclined to visit a bar if there were a high profile farang there in the bar. Now, i really couldnt give a toss. Not a big bar goer these days. What makes me want to visit a bar? this is in no order: Talent, decent prices, no bs no drama. No bs, no drama means no girls or staff pestering you for drinks or hovering around you like a vulture. forgot no loudly, obnoxious music.....

  4. was exploring but no lb bar there....around Chris massage many bars with some lbs https://goo.gl/maps/rFVBajrn1fgZvtJa6 The owner of my hotel told me that many lbs in Phuket ( Patong ) are the worst...stealing everything they can... but as said before i was with my lb..( jeaulous )...no had much time to explore... she was really annoyed because everyone was looking at her..had some problems never experienced before in Thailand...she always yak yak with people looking too much at her ( in Thailand considered as an offence ) i guess patong is to avoid about lbs..too much marketd..but going outside..maybe it is worth ( if You like swimming the best place i've seen ) my bar 3 is definitely a good place..not expensive and not pushy. Bangla...to ovoid... i strongly suggest kata night market for food...the best i've ever had in Thailand in 10 years

  5. Came across a blog post by a Soi 6 bar manager saying the biggest part of his job is drinking with customers. Do you go to bars to chat with the farang owner or manager?

  6. If I go to a ladyboy bar it is to pick up a ladyboy for fun. That’s pretty much it. I am not a huge drinker as any more than one or two drinks these days and I’m useless for sex. So I don’t hang out for very long. I chose my date for the evening and I’m out.

  7. No I don't. I go for a night out with the ladyboys. Sometimes I have happened to speak with Iain at Why Not, and Jimbo when he was at TJs one night, but i don't know too many bar owners anyway, and I'm quite happy just being with the girls.

  8. It seems if changing US 100 dollar bills the best rate is: Super Rich Thailand Green Rajdamri 1, Bangkok Also good is: Vasu Sukumvit at Soi 9/1 TT Exchanges Pattaya (price is not consistent from branch to branch) Super T Antique store Pattaya Rail Link at Swampy Super Rich Thailand Green and Value Plus Red (if changing dollars to baht don't change more than a couple of hundred bucks, however changing baht to dollars especially 1 dollar bills is good) Tough to compare rates as some websites update more frequently than others. Yesterday SuperT was paying one satang more than TT. Right now, Vasu is higher than Super Rich Rajdamri 1 but that is probably because of website updates. Some places specialize in certain currencies. For example, think Super T has lots of Middle East and North African customers.

  9. Thailand Is Being Too Good for Its Own Good Thailand really should let its hair down. The currency is strong and the current-account surplus is big versus the neighborhood, while there's a lot of scope for fiscal expansion. The Bank of Thailand has been grudging in cutting interest rates, in contrast to the easing party under way not just in Asia but in emerging and developed markets the world over. Two decades ago, a perky currency would have been a great problem to have. Today, the baht's strength masks an array of problems, some of them distinctly first world in nature. Inflation is virtually non-existent; consumer prices rose just 0.3% from a year earlier in September. Productivity is low and wages are high for the region. Thailand’s aging population means it resembles Japan and South Korea more than Malaysia, the Philippines or Indonesia. Unemployment is low, in part because the labor force is shrinking. Thailand’s politics are also looking old. The military has staged two takeovers since 2006 in the ongoing feud against the populist former prime minister, Thaksin Shinawatra, and his partisans. A long-delayed election in March that extended coup leader Prayuth Chan-Ocha’s tenure as prime minister is a throwback to the era of military-dominated politics that South Korea, Taiwan, Indonesia and the Philippines learned to leave behind. https://www.yahoo.com/news/thailand-being-too-good-own-032343305.html
